Next Insight and CATA Launch Rideshare Website
State College, PA to benefit from online carpooling systemFor Immediate Release
Rockland County, New York, March 19, 2007 - Next Insight Transportation Software, LLC, the leading provider of web-based software solutions for transit agencies, announced today that it has created a web based ridesharing program for Centre Area Transit Authority (CATA). The rideshare program allows residents of State College, PA to find carpooling partners with similar commutes.
CATA serves the area in and around State College, PA. The transit system serves more than 6 million riders per year. CATA has been a leader in reducing automobile congestion in the area through innovate ridesharing and transit options. CATA provides a guaranteed ride home for user of the system who are faced with an emergency that prohibits them from using their normal carpool ride. CATA's previous ridesharing system was not web-based.
